The Armistice Bay

For this group project we were challenged to design a community space, support services, and an exterior patio in a permanent affordable housing complex for homeless veterans. My partner in this project, Hannah Jones, and I created a warm and inviting space that would make once homeless veterans feel welcomed into their new homes. We wanted to encompass the outdoors and natural elements inside the community space while still remaining sustainable and accessible. The permanent housing facility for veterans would push them towards the right track of standing on their own feet again and regaining their self identity after deployment. With ample social spaces as well as private areas for health support provided, this would be a place to call home.
